pushing farther -
cleaving to flames of wicked suns -
at almost lightspeed.

Wicked Things.
I say, it’s just smoke -
You say - it’s the hair of ghosts.
I say it’s the white hair of Poseidon
Ebbing in the tide in some dead sea.
You say it is some Shroud of Turin -
where a sun wore it white & earth wore it thin
Or the sun wore it white; His faith wore it thin.
Unraveling heavenward
Saddled to tiny birds
Or other such wicked things
Either way they are struggling
Either way they are miniature
Either way they’re invisible
Either way they’re confused
As Hell would happen.
Our pattern of flight is chaotic & blind
But it’s right —
Chaos is luck & love blind
The ruthless are subject to hating us
Just like the rest of us
We are just like the rest of us
The low need the rest of us
to stay alive
That’s not where confusion lies
Truth is the smoke in your eyes
Confusion lies in these wicked things
chaos is yours
chaos is ours
Chaos is love & love is blind
and then —
I see now
it’s just smoke.
